As of June 2024, this autumn remains the most popular entry point for students using our course finder. So if you’ve still got spaces to fill on your courses, now is the time to consider your last minute recruitment strategy.
We’ve recently opened up our dedicated Last Minute Courses Hub for students still eager to start their Masters this year. Whether it’s a case of changed plans or good old-fashioned procrastination, many students submit applications in the last couple of months before their start date. In 2023, our hub had over 11,000 visitors, almost 4,000 of whom submitted an enquiry or visited a university website, showing interest in autumn starts remains high right up to the wire.
We’ve taken a look at how (and why) to boost your recruitment efforts this summer.
As covered above, traffic to our Last Minute Courses Hub demonstrates that interest in autumn starts remains high throughout the summer. And with confidence in postgraduate taught study starting to recover for our home students, now is the time to show it’s not too late to start a Masters.
Our Student Engagement Team is busy making sure that students are aware of their options and have all the information and advice they need to nail a last-minute application. We’ll be promoting plenty of student-facing content for late applicants throughout the summer, both on our blog in our weekly newsletters. But, what we need you to do is get your courses out in front of them!
If you’ve got courses with spaces still available for September or October this year, you can add them to our hub for no extra cost. You just need to follow these three simple steps:
Once your course is added, it will be displayed in our hub, which students can filter by subject area, location and mode of study.
So you’ve made the effort to add your courses to the hub, what next? Capitalising on the last minute application rush is a great use of your recruitment budget. The hub will help but your Account Manager can create a tailored campaign to drive more traffic to your listings. You could take advantage of:
