At FindAUniversity, although our expertise lie in supporting postgraduate students on their academic journeys, our commitment to education extends beyond just university. We believe in creating opportunities for learners at all stages, including those just beginning to explore their future paths.
We had the pleasure of hosting Max Willis, a GCSE student for a month long summer placement, giving him hands on experience in the world of web design and data management – as well as an early preview of postgraduate education(!).
Investing in future talent
Max has a keen interest in data and hopes to pursue a career in computer sciences. During his time with us he worked closely with our Data & Optimisation Team, a field he’s eager to explore further as he considers his future career options.
As a company deeply rooted in the education sector, we understand the importance of nurturing talent from a young age. Hosting Max wasn’t just about providing an educational experience – it was about giving him skills and insights that will serve him well in his future studies and career.
A win-win experience
Max’s time at FindAUniversity was as beneficial for us as it was for him. He immersed himself in various tasks, from exploring database management techniques to learning about OpenAI and research tools. Two of his standout projects were creating a report on Masters funding data as well as analysing how far students travel to their chosen universities, providing valuable insights for our team.
Max also enjoyed the collaborative aspect of the placement, particularly meeting new faces and being involved in the wider team.
At FindAUniversity, we believe that our role is not just to provide educational services but to actively contribute to the development of the next generation. By offering placements to students like Max, we help them gain real-world experience that aligns with their interests and academic pursuits.
