Our Postgraduate Marketing Conference: What’s Changed and What’s Next

It’s been six years since we launched our Marketing Conference. Back in 2018, it was the first postgraduate-specific event of its kind! Since then, our Events Team has delivered 11 conferences, as well as incorporating regular webinars, and learned plenty along the way.

As we prep for our 12th edition this September, we’ve reflected on how we’ve adapted to meet the ever-changing needs of the sector, and offer you a sneak peek of what’s coming up at our London conference next month (you can book your place now!).

Six years of Marketing Conferences at FindAUniversity

We all know that the world of higher education never stays still for long – and neither do we! Over the past six years, we’ve made sure to keep our content fresh and relevant, as well as updating the format of our events, based on your feedback, to provide even more value for our attendees.

Our talks have covered all the hot topics in the world of postgraduate recruitment, from HE in a post-covid world to the UUKi We Are International Campaign and emerging use-cases for AI.

We listened to your feedback on how important networking and discussion at these events. Last year we introduced breakout groups allowing for smaller, workshop-style sessions. And we know you attend our conferences primarily to form new contacts in the sector, so we’ve also come up with easy ice breakers to help get the conversation started, such as our ‘networking bingo’ (the winner of which won a free ticket to our next event!) and extended breaks.

Postgraduate students are what we’re all about, so in spring 2023, we got them involved with a student panel. It proved such a big hit that it’s become a staple part of our agenda!

While some aspects of our Marketing Conference have changed, others have stood the test of time. For example, we’ll always bring you the latest, data-backed trends in the world of postgraduate study in our introductory talk, which provides an overview of our most recent Pulse research.

What’s coming up at our next Marketing Conference?

Our second Marketing Conference of 2024 will take place in partnership with Havas Education at London’s HKX Building on Thursday 12 September.

New for this year, we’re listening to feedback and trying something a little different! We’ve introduced two tracks so you can better tailor your day to what you’re most interested in. If you’re new to the sector or your role, our Postgraduate Future Leaders talks will help build up your knowledge of the audience and introduce you to some of the key issues they’re facing. On the other hand, if you run a team or have several years’ experience in PG, then our Postgraduate Leaders track is more for you, giving you the chance to chat about the bigger questions facing the sector at the moment. No matter what level you’re at, you’re free to move between the tracks throughout the day, just pick what talks interest you most!

Topics include bridging the training gap to management level in the postgraduate recruitment sector, how to help your prospective students better understand Masters and PhD loans, and making sense of PGR marketing. Of course, we’ll also be bringing back our much-anticipated student panel, as well as a Postgraduate Campaign Showcase, which will give you a chance to quiz the people behind some of the sector’s most successful recent marketing efforts.
