Last Minute Courses: How to Promote Your Masters Courses Throughout the Summer
As of June 2024, this autumn remains the most popular entry point for students using our course finder. So if you’ve still got spaces to fill on your courses, now is the time to consider your last minute recruitment strategy.
We’ve recently opened up our dedicated Last Minute Courses Hub for students still eager to start their Masters this year. Whether it’s a case of changed plans or good old-fashioned procrastination, many students submit applications in the last couple of months before their start date. In 2023, our hub had over 11,000 visitors, almost 4,000 of whom submitted an enquiry or visited a university website, showing interest in autumn starts remains high right up to the wire.
We’ve taken a look at how (and why) to boost your recruitment efforts this summer.
A critical recruitment window
As covered above, traffic to our Last Minute Courses Hub demonstrates that interest in autumn starts remains high throughout the summer. And with confidence in postgraduate taught study starting to recover for our home students, now is the time to show it’s not too late to start a Masters.
Our Student Engagement Team is busy making sure that students are aware of their options and have all the information and advice they need to nail a last-minute application. We’ll be promoting plenty of student-facing content for late applicants throughout the summer, both on our blog in our weekly newsletters. But, what we need you to do is get your courses out in front of them!
How to advertise your last minute courses
If you’ve got courses with spaces still available for September or October this year, you can add them to our hub for no extra cost. You just need to follow these three simple steps:
- 1. Log in to your Client Admin account
- 2. Select a department
- 3. Click 'Listings' and then 'Last Minute Courses'
Once your course is added, it will be displayed in our hub, which students can filter by subject area, location and mode of study.
Make your last minute advertising go further
So you’ve made the effort to add your courses to the hub, what next? Capitalising on the last minute application rush is a great use of your recruitment budget. The hub will help but your Account Manager can create a tailored campaign to drive more traffic to your listings. You could take advantage of:
- Featured programmes: Promote your listings to the top of our search results for added visibility
- Institution profiles: Create a bespoke profile offering extended information about your university including videos, scholarships and open days. Our department profiles also let you shine a spotlight on individual departments within your institution and showcase their strengths and offerings.
- Email campaigns: Reach 100,000+ subscribers with a spotlight email campaign, or a featured opportunity or banner in one of our weekly newsletters
- Display advertising: Promote your listings on our homepage or through a targeted audience extension campaign
- New Paid Social Lead Generation: Put your courses in front of your target markets on social media & cherry pick the ones you want from a list of interested leads.
